Become an Intern
Internships are available at FWS in a variety of different fields. We accept Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s students. Placements are limited and are granted based on availability in your field of study. Placement is not guaranteed. FWS runs semester or year-long internship programs. Students receive close supervision by Agency personnel and have the opportunity to integrate, utilize and apply classroom content to practical experiences. The practicum is intended to produce a professionally reflective, self-evaluating, knowledgeable, and developing social work practitioner.

Volunteer
We welcome all volunteers. You can help in many ways:

Weekly Community Food Distribution Program - every Monday afternoon at 3 pm at our Charlevoix location

Academic Tutoring - Tutoring support for youth/teens as part of our Out-of-School Time program

Homework Help - Help our youth/teens with homework as part of our Out-of-School Time program

Career Day Speaker - Come speak to our youth/teens about your career journey

Senior Outreach Services - From food and supply distribution to welfare checks, you can support seniors in the community

Environmental Services - Assistance with grounds-keeping, painting, landscaping, etc.​

Child Care - Assistance with children in our program (must have a DHS clearance registry letter)​​

Administration - Assistance with administrative functions​

Receptionist - Assistance with answering phone calls and greeting visitors
