United Way Thanks Franklin Wright for Continued Support Throughout COVID-19
Kudos to Monique Marks, president and CEO of Franklin Wright Settlements for her leadership and support of the community throughout COVID-19.
Marks was acknowledged in an open letter from the United Way of Southeastern Michigan...
Thank you for your continued support of United Way for Southeastern Michigan. Throughout this pandemic, you’ve been there to help our community. Your support of our COVID-19 Community Response Fund ensures that the most vulnerable people in Southeastern Michigan have somewhere to turn in a time of need. And just a few weeks ago, you answered the call when our partners at The Guidance Center were in desperate need of diapers. We cannot thank you enough.
Read on for more information about that diaper drive, as well as an update on our COVID-19 Community Response Fund and some ways that you can get involved with virtual volunteering.
We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy.
A few weeks back, we received a desperate request for supplies from one of our early learning partners – The Guidance Center. The families they support are struggling through the pandemic and need supplies for their children.
We asked you for help supporting their needs in honor of National Child Care Provider Day, and you delivered. We were blown away by the overwhelming and immediate response to our call to action.
More than 9,100 diapers, along with formula and wipes, were donated to the drive. Thank you for your generosity and giving spirit. Because of you, we were able to help so many families in great need. Your thoughtfulness will have a tremendous impact.
Our COVID-19 Community Response Fund continues to see an outpouring of support. Thanks to gifts from corporate partners and individual supporters like you, we’ve raised more than $15.5 million, all of which goes directly toward helping families who need it most. More than $14 million has already been distributed to nearly 500 organizations. Click the button below to learn more about the organizations that have received funding.
