Family Growth and Development Program
The In-Home therapeutic services program provides court mandated individual therapy, family therapy, and case management to children, adolescences, adults, and families. The program philosophy is intended to create structure, rebuild relationships, and resolve issues which led to family separation.
Franklin-Wright Settlements, INC. is a sub-contractor of Assured Family Services. Referrals for individual therapy, family therapy, and case management are made to the courts by social workers and foster care specialist through Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and other Child Protective Services (CPS) agencies.
Assured Family Services delegates referrals from the courts to Franklin-Wright Settlements, INC.
The populations that we service are alleged victims of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. However, neglect is the most commonly reported form of maltreatment. Many children have already been removed from the home pending a CPS investigation.
The goals of the program are centered on advocacy, household stability, self-sufficiency, and effective decision-making. Family reunification is the envisioned outcome for the provided services.
Franklin-Wright assists with The Low Income Self-Sufficiency Plan (LSP) is a low affordable payment plan for eligible low income families. The program offers qualified individuals to make affordable monthly payments based on income equal to or less than 150% Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. Individuals who qualify for the program will benefit from affordable fixed monthly rates, shut-off service protection, and the elimination of outstanding debt upon agreement of regular monthly payments.
Franklin-Wright Settlements, INC. partners with The Heating And Warming Fund (THAW) and United Way of Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM) to help with utility assistance.
Recipients of THAW assistance include the elderly, unemployed, underemployed, and disabled individuals who found themselves in an energy crisis. These populations are especially vulnerable to the cold. THAW programs are open to eligible Michigan residents.
Franklin-Wright Settlements, INC. partners with Forgotten Harvest to initiate a food pantry to assist families with supplementary food.
Fresh food items are delivered by Forgotten Harvest and distributed to families on a weekly basis. The goal of the pantry is to provide temporary supplementary food to the underserved population in the McDougall/Hunt service area and to reduce food insecurity.

Meals on Wheels
On every holiday of each year Franklin-Wright serves as a MEALS ON WHEELS distribution site for volunteers to deliver both cold and hot meals to seniors all over Metro Detroit. The goal is to support seniors to live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes. In 2017, over 150 volunteers met at Franklin-Wright to distribute food to seniors in the area.
Many seniors are unable to get out during the holidays due to health issues, transportation, and/or lack of family support. Franklin-Wright takes pride in being able to bring a little holiday spirit and smiles to faces of seniors in need.
Annually a select group of high school students from metro Detroit attend the college tour sponsored by Franklin-Wright Settlements. Reserve your seat for the 2018 College Tour including New York!
